What is a blog?

 Most of us misunderstand it and treat blog as a website. In some cases it is similar to a website but for many reasons it is completely different from a website. The term blog is shortend form of web log. A web(blog) can be defined as a website that contain log or diary of information on a particular topic or niche which is updated frequently. 

You might have read hundred of blogs unknowingly and one fun fact is that you are reading one now. A blog is owned by a person or a group of people know blogger. And the act or the job of writing blog is blogging. 

What is the use of a blog? 

Blogs are very important for all the search engines and even for us. Do you know there are over 150 million blogs in the whole world since 2013.Initially they were few in number but now they are increasing rapidly with the increae in demand. Do you know there are over 100 million people read blogs everyday. which means blogs are important for millions of people around the world. 

Whenever you search anything on google most of the results are blogs. And unknowingly you reads ton of blogs everyday. so l don't think i need to explain the importance of blog. 

Why people blog? 

Now you know what is blog but why do people blog. Do they get something by doing it or they do it for fun. Actually different people have different interest. some follow it as a passion, some for fun and most of them for money. yes money. Now don't ask me whether we can make money from it or not. Definitely we can earn thousands of dollars every month. 

Can you start a Blog? 

As i have said that you can earn money from blog, you might be thinking to start your own blog and make money. That's great but are you eligible to make a blog. In short it's yes. Anyone can make a blog either it is 10 years kid or 95 year old man. There is no any terms or condition to start a blog. it doesn't matter whether you live in America or india. If you are able to write some good articles then you can be the next blogger. All you need is laptop or a smartphone with internet connection. 

Tip:Blogging is not a magic that will make you rich in one night. you need to give time and money to make actual earning. so don't get panic and have patience

How to start a blog in 6 steps:-

Now you know that you can also make a blog, right. But how to create a blog and what you need to get started? 

well, you can start a blog by following these six easy steps. 

The steps are as follows:-

* Brainstorm your mind and come up with som ideas to start a blog. 

* Choose one right platform

* Get the right domain name

* Grab the suitable hosting

* Design your blog beautifully

* write some posts, get traffic and start earning. 

1.Brainstorm your mind and come up with some ideas to start a blog:-

This is the most important thing you should do before starting a blog. Think about the content which you are going to provide on your blog. Find the right niche you are going to work on. 

In this stage most of us make a big mistake, which i also made. I picked up a random topic and start working on it. I was not having much knowledge about that still i choosen it because there was more money in that niche. In one way you can say i became very greedy and as result i could not make even a single dollar from that website. so please don't make that mistake. I have some tips to choose the niche.

*make sure you have some knowledge about the topic you choose

*Think about your passion

*choose the topic which has less competition

*There should be lots of stuffs to write about. 

2.Choose one right platform

Most of the people get confused while choosing a platform. They don't know about the best platform for them. well, there are two main platform for blogging.

*Blogger(Google's product) 

*Wordpress(Most suggested) 

Both of these are great platforms for blogging. well wordpress is a bit professional one. If you are just a beginner and don't want to invest any money the you can go with blogger. 

Because blogger provides all it features for free. But wordpress is very limited in it's free version. But if you are ready to invest some money then you can go with wordpress. 

3.Get the right domain name

Domain is one of the most important thing you should consider while making a blog or website. If you choose the wrong domain you will loose in the first step of SEO(Searh engine optimization) . well if you don't know what is a domain then, domain is the url luke create, Fantastic website in minutes your site. com which you have to purchase but from where will you purchase it. well you can get it from Godaddy, Bluehost etc Both of these provide domains at better price. Things to consider while buying domains:

. com, . net, . es, . org, . eu, . biz, . us, . info etc

*Grab an attractive and creative domain name

*Make sure that it fits and relate your niche

*Don't buy long domain name(it looks weird) 

*Buy high quality domain like  . com,  . org  . in etc

*Avoid digits(like without numbers looks clean) 

4.Grab the suitable hosting

Now next thing comes is hosting. if you are using blogger then you don't really need a hosting as blogger provide in built hosting which is way more powerful. But if you are using a platform like wordpress then it is very important to get a hosting for your blog. you can choose hosting depending on your efficiency. 

If you have sufficient money then you can get a good hosting. But if you are a begginer then it is better to have a least expensive hosting. you can get hosting from Bluehost as well as from Godaddy. Things to consider which buying a hosting:

*Buy it according to your need

*Go for SSD as it improves your website speed

*check bandwidgth

*Quality customer support is important

*Explore security features

*check disk space

5.Design your blog successfully

let's say you have bought a domain and a hosting. Is that over? Not at all. That is just the skeleton of your website. Not its time to add some look to your website. And don't take it lightly. it is very important as the first thing people would see is your website's design. And if they don't like it then your website will fail to pass as first impression is last impression. 

so first you need to do is to get a proper theme for your website. wordpress has tons of free and paid themes but there are numerous themes in blogger. so you choose any of the themes you like. Then add some important pages to your blog like about us, privacy policy, contact us, disclaimer etc. you should also have an about author page. Then you need to add some plugins to your blog. once done customize your blog and give it the final finishing. 

6.write some posts, get traffic and start earning:-

Now you have make a complete, good looking website. But that was just the empty body. The content you write is the soul of your website. Everything depends on your content. if your content is good then your website will definitely grow and will reach to next level. But if your content is poor no one is gone like it and you are not going to grow. 

                         so, all you need to do is to write quality content. But only writing quality content won't make you rank high. you still need to do many SEO strategies, social media marketing etc to get more traffic and finally to earn more money.
